Keep your wardrobe together in one digital space.
FEATURED PROJECT / 2024
A digital wardrobe built around one simple idea: wear more of what you already own.
THE IDEA
How can we encourage people to wear the clothes they already own more often?
Ourfit started as a first-year project around sustainable fashion. Instead of approaching sustainability through buying something new, I wanted to explore how we could make better use of what people already have.
That question eventually became the foundation for Ourfit: a digital wardrobe where other people can create outfits using the clothes you already own.
01 / DISCOVER
The project began with design thinking and research into sustainable fashion. We explored the problem, generated possible solutions and used techniques such as dot voting to narrow our ideas down.
One insight became particularly interesting: clothes can already be sitting in someone's wardrobe, yet still barely be worn.
That shifted my focus from helping people find new clothes to helping them rediscover the clothes they already own.
02 / THE CONCEPT
Users upload pieces from their wardrobe and can highlight items they specifically want inspiration for.
02Friends, family or other users can combine those pieces into outfits without needing to own them.
03Seeing an unfamiliar combination can give an old piece a completely different context and encourage the owner to wear it again.
03 / DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
After defining the concept, I moved through low-, mid- and high-fidelity prototypes. User testing throughout the process helped uncover problems and refine the experience.
Ourfit was also one of my first projects where design and development came together. I developed the core experience using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
The outfit builder allowed users to work with wardrobe pieces and create new combinations, turning the concept into an interactive experience.
04 / THE EXPERIENCE
Keep your wardrobe together in one digital space.
Combine pieces visually to discover new outfits.
Let other people approach your wardrobe from a completely different perspective.
Highlight clothes you struggle to style and ask the community for ideas.
REFLECTION
“My first project where design met development.”
Looking back, I can see decisions I would approach differently today — from consistency in Figma to the visual language of the interface. But that's exactly what makes Ourfit important to me: it was one of the first projects that showed me how design and development can shape one experience together.
